Exhibitors in the Miniature Settings classes of the Philadelphia Flower Show meet in September to discuss the upcoming show and learn new techniques for creating miniature gardens and scenes. This year a new component was added: everyone attending brought images of their proposed projects, gave a brief presentation, and answered questions about their work. The exchange was very worthwhile and each project was unique and fascinating. Several of them will be presented in more detail in later blogs.
The theme of the 2014 Flower Show is “ArtiCulture” which combines art and horticulture. Each of us has chosen an artist to represent in our exhibits. Our artists will include Frank Lloyd Wright, Keith Haring, Barbara Hepworth, John William Waterhouse, Alfred Hitchcock, Frida Kahlo, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Leonardo Da Vinci, Claude Monet, and King Nebuchadnezzar II.
