So while I wait for the judging results for the miniature settings, I thought I would show you what the judges will be seeing today. Yesterday, I spent the entire day doing the setup. It was freezing cold in the Convention Center and that slowed me down a bit.
Early during setup
Spruced it all up this morning and here is what it now looks like:
The real-life glasses on the floor give you the scale.
The scenes are framed by this window which is 12in x 22in
A general view of the right side of the scene.
A general view of the center and left side of the scene
General view looking in from the left
The view looking into Sprout’s office. I’m glad I took the glass out because you can see everything better.
Bouncing bulbs, Gillyweed, Wolfsbane, and a dangerous Snargaluff.
The Devil’s Snare is escaping!
The Slytherins spilled the dragon dung that they put on all the dangerous plants.
Wear your earmuffs but try to avoid the pink ones!
The beautiful Professor Pomona Sprout. I know she is supposed to be “a squat little witch” according to J.K. Rowling, but I like her like this, too.
Flutterby Bush, Chinese Chomping Cabbage, and real Rue and real Nettles.
The baby Mandrakes are escaping!
Baby Mandrakes and poster
Bags of dragon dung
A very dirty sink, with tiny ferns growing in the jars.
The Dirigible Plum is trying to break out of the frame.
Center view of the beds with Bubotuber (there is some Bubotuber Pus in some jars at the back) and Flitterbloom.
